FAQ

Where Source Organic Whey Comes From

Our whey comes from small dairy farms in Wisconsin, many with less than 25 cattle. The cows graze on grass pastures during the growing season. When winter comes, the cows spend time indoors, feeding primarily on organic hay. Our whey is certified Organic and Kosher.

How Source Organic Whey Is Made

Our whey is produced in a LEED certified whey plant. Raw whey is over 99% water. The whey is filtered via low temperature ultra-filtration. The excess water is separated, filtered and then reused within the plant.

The whey plant also has:

  • Two biofilters that send storm water runoff to the local aquifer
  • Highest recycled fly ash possible that meet the plant’s structural parameters
  • Majority of building materials from local companies

How Source Organic Whey Is Packaged

Our company is certified as an organic handler by Oregon Tilth under the National Organic Program (NOP). As an organic handler, we are certified to do all of our own packaging and maintain the organic standard of our product.

100% Biodegradable Packaging

We are proud to work with TekPak Solutions who allows us to offer a 100% biodegradable package. Our packaging is free of phthalates, heavy metals, or genetically modified (GM) components.
